  • Inspection on Building 2, Ground Floor for Room Turnovers. I had an ocular inspection of the rooms in the first level of building 2 during the morning and the afternoon prior to the deadline which was supposedly today wherein there should be at least three rooms to be handed over to the CDU Group. Unfortunately, the rooms were still messy and incompletely plastered. I made a report and passed it to the Cadet Engineer for a follow up.
  • CHB Piling Update. I had an ocular inspection on the three buildings as to the areas where CHB Piling has started. A floor plan of the three buildings and the four floors in each is placed on the wall i the Senior Project Manager’s Office and should be updated twice a week in accordance to the areas wherein CHB Piling has started. This is to identify the progress using the floor plans in the office.
  • Estimate Length of Gutter. Gutter on Grid Line 2, 3 and G was estimated. This is prior to the preparation of the gutter plan and its concrete pouring to be done as soon as possible. This will also be the basis for the water-proofing process which will be handled by another sub-contractor.

The whole day was filled with the following tasks:

  • Inspection on Building 2, Ground Floor for Room Turnovers. An ocular inspection was performed in order to have a daily report on the accomplishment of Building 2. The rooms in the first level of Building 2 are supposed to be handed over to the CDU Group by Friday, April 25, 2008, for them to perform the tiling works and have the necessary details in the rooms installed such as the beds and tables, sinks and other fixtures. However, as i was done expecting the building by afternoon, I was doubting if there are rooms ready enough to be handed over to them. There was still a room without air condition opening above the window. I reported the situation and the Cadet Engineer requested the masonry. There were also rooms with no plaster on the walls.
  • Actual Accomplishment Report On CHB Piling and Plastering. it was sort of an update of the report I made the yesterday based on the ocular inspection I performed to obtain a Actual Accomplishment of CHB Piling and Plastering on interior and exterior walls on the three buildings. The actual accomplishment will be used as a weekly report in comparison with the theoretical accomplishment. This will also be the basis during the billing of the sub-contractors especially those who are handling the masonry.
  • Estimate Volume to be Poured with Concrete Mixture. Volume of roof beams in building 2, columns in building 2 and slab on the fourth level of building 1 was estimated. This was prior to the pouring of concrete and for the Concrete Pouring Request which will be signed by all sub-contractors and the Senior Project Manager.

Fourth Day: April 23, 2008 [Wednesday]

Date: April 23, 2008 [Wednesday]

Morning

Time Out: 12:00 PM

Afternoon

Time Out: 6:00 PM

Just a typical day in the site. I was filled with the following tasks:

  • Inspection on Building 2, Ground Floor for Room Turnovers. I did ocular inspection in every rooms in the building I am assigned to inspect everyday prior to room turnovers to the CDU Group. I have observed that the improvement is very slow. The sub-contractor of the masonry informed me that they are prioritizing building 3 since it way ahead from building 2, with respect to its structural accomplishment. i did ocular inspection during the morning and the afternoon before I left the site to have a daily report on the status of the building so as to inform the Cadet Engineer.
  • Actual Accomplishment Report On CHB Piling and Plastering. I did another ocular inspection on the three buildings to obtain an actual accomplishment percentage of CHB Piling and Plastering on Exterior and Interior Walls. This is to have a comparison on the theoretical accomplishment prepared by the Cadet Engineer. This will be graphically presented through the S-Curve wherein the comparison between the Theoretical Accomplishment and the Actual Accomplishment is depicted and the number of days the project id ahead or delayed is shown.

Based on the ocular inspection made, a report was submitted to the Cadet Engineer regarding the accomplishments on Buildings I am assigned. The Actual Accomplishment is greater than the Theoretical Accomplishment, with a variance of 20 days.
